Absolutely beautiful; a real work of art and we are thrilled with it, thank you

Heritage Wood Floors were commissioned to lay 1200 square metres of parquet flooring in the prestigious 5 star spa Montpelier Chapter Hotel in Cheltenham.

The parquet flooring was in the style of single herring bone and strip flooring. Curved corridors and varying subfloor levels added to the challenges which were overcome resulting in one of the most beautiful floors to grace the Montpelier district of Cheltenham.

A royal floor that changes colour throughout the day

Heritage Wood Floors were commissioned to install wide solid European oak boards at Crawley Grange. Built in the 16th century for Cardinal Wolsey and reputedly visited by heir to the throne Elisabeth Tudor.

The boards themselves are befitting such a wonderful property. With lengths over 6 metres long and 14 inches wide these character grade boards have been screwed to the existing bearers and then the screw holes plugged with oak dowels. The timber was then sanded and finished with several thin coats of Hard Wax Oil and gently polished to a soft delicate sheen.

It is worth mentioning that the colour of the floor changes through out the day from light oak to a very rich deep oak as the natural light diminishes.

I hope that we have left you in no doubt about how thrilled we are with the finished project

High Heel praise! We fitted and finished this simple parquet floor in European Oak for the creative director of the leading fashion shoe company Kurt Geiger. Here is what she thought of her floor.

“I hope that we have left you in no doubt about how thrilled we are with the finished project-the floor has been commented on by everybody who has visited the house and it seems to look more beautiful everyday! Thank you so much for your tireless enthusiasm, patience and hard work. We shall off course recommend you to anybody considering a wood floor of their own,”

A Fine Performance at De Montfort Hall

When Heritage Wood Floors renovated the stage and auditorium at Leicester’s De Montfort Hall it was vital that the Halls valuable recital organ was protected from dust during the sanding process.

Rather than covering the giant organ with dust sheets which would have been prohibitively expensive and time consuming. Heritage Wood Floors used their dust containment system when the sanding of the wood floors was carried out. Air born dust was eliminated and the complete renovation was carried out successfully without damaging the organ.

The floors were finished with a Bona Kemi Traffic to give the Maple floors maximum protection.

The very old and the very new

Fumed, hand scraped and oiled boards were used to contrast with the ancient exposed timber frames in this beautiful 15th century barn conversion in Oxfordshire.

The property has underfloor heating throughout and as such engineered boards which are guaranteed for use with underfloor heating. These modern boards are a platform for the traditional structure of this wonderful building. These boards are coloured to a mid tone and therefore appear darker or lighter depending on the light conditions.

American Black Walnut

American Walnut is arguably one of the most attractive species of timber. It finishes excellently and these beautiful long boards are a fitting addition to this magnificent country house in Hertfordshire. The boards are in fact engineered and are finished with three coats of hard wax oil.
